Helen Camila Mancera is an advocate for free public education, a music educator, and a researcher who examines the issues and values related to the impact and effectiveness of art and music in educational and public policy settings. Her academic background includes serving as the student representative on the Supreme Council at the National Pedagogical University. As a music educator, she has earned diplomas in territorial innovation from El Bosque University and peacebuilding through music from the National University of Colombia. Helen's expertise emphasizes the role of music in fostering social change and peacebuilding. Currently, Helen Camila is engaged in research-creation projects related to the Colombian exile and armed conflict. She is an intern at the National Library of Colombia in the Music Documentation Centre (MDC). She performs on the clarinet, saxophone, and gaitas with the theater group Casa Teatrova and designs experiences in inclusive pedagogies for gender equity and peacebuilding through music.
