Oluwatobi Babatunde
Oluwatobi Babatunde is a Nigerian-born trumpeter, arts administrator, and emerging leader working at the intersection of music and business. He recently completed his Master of Music in Performance at Southeastern Louisiana University and is currently pursuing a Master of Business Administration, seeking to integrate his passion for the arts alongside his growing expertise in business administration, finance, and organizational development.
With a strong foundation in both performance and structured management, Oluwatobi has developed experience in coordination, data management, and program development within academic and arts environments. He has served as a Graduate Research Assistant in Educational Technology and Data Management, supporting large-scale digital systems, maintaining structured databases, and contributing to data-informed program evaluation. As a Student Brand Ambassador for Mango Languages, he led outreach and onboarding initiatives serving over 1,100 students, while designing engagement strategies and analyzing user data to improve program effectiveness. His role as Graduate Assistant for the Wind Symphony further strengthened his skills in ensemble coordination, operations, and administrative organization.
Alongside his administrative work, Oluwatobi remains an active and accomplished performer. He has distinguished himself within Nigeria’s classical music landscape, performing with ensembles such as the MUSON Symphony Orchestra and the Chamber Music Society of Nigeria. He previously served as Principal Trumpet and Brass Sectional Leader for the Dulcis Orchestra and Divine Symphony Orchestra, and as Assistant Sectional Leader with the Loveworld Orchestra. He is also a co-founder of the Exquisite Brass Quintet, a Lagos-based ensemble dedicated to advancing brass performance in Nigeria.
His choral experience includes membership in the award-winning Mountain Top Chorale, which earned two gold medals representing Nigeria at the 2024 World Choir Games in New Zealand. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Building and Technology Education from the University of Lagos and a Grade 8 Trumpet Performance Certificate (Distinction) from ABRSM, where he was recognized as the highest scorer in Nigeria.
