The Pan-African Choir is a community-centered choral ensemble dedicated to the exploration and performance of choral music rooted in diverse African musical traditions. The ensemble brings together young adults and adults from varied musical backgrounds, ranging from passionate music enthusiasts to experienced professionals, into an inclusive and collaborative artistic space. At the heart of the program is a commitment to original and newly arranged works that reflect the rhythmic, linguistic, and cultural richness of Pan-African music, while maintaining a high standard of musical excellence.

Age Range & Membership

The choir is open to ages 18 and above, creating an ensemble where singers at different life and career stages can learn from one another and share musical experiences.

Musical Backgrounds & Skill Level
Members will come from a wide range of musical backgrounds, including music enthusiasts, trained singers, and professional musicians. While varying levels of experience are welcome, the ability to read music is not required to ensure efficient rehearsals.

Note: This opening is strictly for individuals currently residing in the Greater Chicago Area for in-person rehearsals and performances.
